Alert Issued For Wanted Long Island Man

A man who failed to appear in court following his arrest for driving while his ability was impaired by drugs on Long Island is wanted by New York State Police.

Investigators from East Meadow issued an alert for Michael Leahy, 37, who is wanted by New York State Police and Nassau County Court after he was arrested for DWAI by drugs on March 31, 2015.

Leahy later failed to appear in court and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest on Oct. 23, 2017.

According to police, Leahy is approximately 5-foot-9, weighing 190 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts, or who recognizes him, has been asked to contact State Police in East Meadow by calling (631) 756-3300 or emailing CrimeTip@troopers.ny.gov.
